Research peptide raw material

DSIP Raw Material Supplier

DSIP is a nine-residue peptide, Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, supplied by Pepti as cold-chain raw powder from 5 g or as lyophilized vials in 2 mg and 5 mg fills. Two public batch records are listed for it, one per fill, and each reports an HPLC purity result and a molecular-weight result that can be read before an order is confirmed.

Naming

DSIP: the name, the sequence and the registry number

DSIP is the four-letter abbreviation under which a nonapeptide with the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, or WAGGDASGE in one-letter code, is traded. Its registry number is CAS 62568-57-4, its PubChem entry is CID 68816, its formula is C35H48N10O15 and its molecular weight is 848.8 g/mol. The expanded form of the abbreviation, delta sleep-inducing peptide, is the historical name under which the sequence was registered. It is reproduced here because it is the name in the registry, not because this page makes any claim about it, and the sequence and the CAS number are the identifiers to use on a purchase order.

Nine residues is long enough for the sequence itself to be the thing that matters. A substitution, a missing glycine or an amidated instead of a free-acid terminus each gives a different substance, and DSIP as registered ends in glutamate with a free carboxyl group, which is what the formula C35H48N10O15 describes. Analogues with a modified residue circulate under names that resemble DSIP; they are different compounds and would need their own registry numbers on a quotation. A molecular-weight result near 848.8 g/mol, read together with the CAS number, is how a buyer confirms that what is being offered is the parent nonapeptide and not a relative of it.

The CAS number pins the sequence; it leaves open two things that affect a weighed quantity. One is the salt form, which adds counter-ion mass to the gross weight. The other is water, which a lyophilized cake always holds to some degree. Both are stated on a quotation if you ask, and neither is reported on the public summary. The rest of this page covers documentation, formats, ordering and handling for a procurement reader, and stops there; what DSIP does is not a subject this site writes about. DSIP is supplied for research use only.

Batch record

Two public DSIP lots and what they report

The Pepti library currently holds two public DSIP records, one for a 2 mg fill and one for a 5 mg fill. Both report an HPLC purity result of 99.8%, so the published range for this compound is a single figure rather than a spread. That is a coincidence of two lots, not a promise; the next lot will be tested in the same way and will report whatever it reports. Each record also carries a molecular-weight result from mass spectrometry, the manufacturing date, the test date and a retest date set about two years after manufacture.

The certificate answers two questions: is the main peak DSIP, and how much of the chromatogram is that peak. It does not answer how much material is in the vial as a measured fill, how much of the weighed mass is water or counter-ion, whether endotoxin or bioburden was tested, or what the peptide content is on a net basis. Those are legitimate questions for a buyer to have. They are answered by tests the buyer commissions, and the lot number printed on the certificate and on every vial label is what connects an outside result back to this material.

Ask for the record before paying. For allocated stock the quotation carries the lot reference and the matching row in the batch table on this page can be read straight away. For a lot still in production the certificate is issued on the same template once testing is complete and is sent with the order documents. The quality page explains the template; the guide on comparing supplier quotations explains what to look for when two suppliers both quote a purity figure.

Ordering

How a DSIP enquiry becomes a shipment

Five exchanges, each of which ends in something you can file.

  1. Say which format and how much

DSIP raw powder is quoted per gram from 5 g and travels cold-chain. Vials come in 2 mg and 5 mg fills, ten to a kit; 1 kit (10 vials) is the sample order and 50 kits (500 vials) is the starting point for a private-label OEM run. Powder and vials can sit on one enquiry.

  2. Name the country and the documents

The delivery country decides the route, the customs paperwork and the packing. Add whether you want the certificate before payment, whether you need a specific analytical format for your file, and whether the standard retest date fits your stock rotation.

Admissibility in your jurisdiction is yours to check. The quotation lists goods and documents and gives no import opinion.

  3. Check the lot named on the quotation

A DSIP quotation identifies the material by CAS 62568-57-4 and names the lot where stock is allocated. Open that lot in the library and read the purity, the molecular-weight result and the dates before you confirm.

  4. Confirm and wait the typical window

Sample kits typically leave in 3–7 days after specification and payment are confirmed. A production batch is typically 10–14 days; an OEM repeat batch typically 14–18 days. The quotation states which window applies, and all three are typical rather than fixed.

  5. Receive, match, record

Compare the lot number on each vial or on the powder container with the certificate, count and photograph the goods, and enter the lot, the receipt date and the retest date in your register. Raise any mismatch with the lot number and the photographs; it is handled against the record.

Choosing between DSIP powder and DSIP vials

Both come from the same lot family and carry the same certificate template.

BuyerUsual formatReason
Laboratory with its own weighing and fillingRaw powder from 5 gYou set the fill and the container, and one powder lot stretches across many of your own units
Distributor shipping sealed units onwardVials in 2 mg or 5 mg fills, kits of tenEach vial is labelled with lot and fill, so onward custody is a label, not a weighing
Buyer qualifying a new sourceA single kit of one fillThe lowest-commitment order that still comes with a public record to compare
Brand owner with own packagingVials from 50 kits (500 vials)Planned as a production batch, documented lot by lot, reordered on the OEM window

The 2 mg fill is the smaller of the two; if you have not settled on a fill, say so and the quotation will cover both.

Two formats for DSIP

  • Raw powder

    DSIP as raw material

From 5 g per order, quoted per gram, dispatched cold-chain. The batch COA confirmed for the lot states HPLC purity and MS identity. Choose this when your own fill-and-finish or analytical work needs bulk material.

  • Lyophilized vials

    DSIP in finished vials

Fills of 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg per vial, ten vials per kit. A sample order is 1 kit (10 vials); private-label OEM starts at 50 kits (500 vials). Choose this when you need a finished, sealed unit per sample rather than weighed powder.

Public lot records for DSIP

2 public lot records for DSIP, with chromatographic purity results from 99.8%. Each row is one lot at one fill: the lot number, the fill, the HPLC purity result, the mass-spectrometry molecular-weight result and the test date.

Lead times

Three stages, each quoted as a typical window after specification and payment confirmation; not a fixed commitment. The quotation states the window that applies to your order.

  2. 02Production batchtypically 10–14 days
  3. 03OEM repeat batchtypically 14–18 days

Handling

Keeping DSIP as it was documented

DSIP is dispatched dry: freeze-dried cakes in stoppered, capped vials, or weighed powder in a sealed container inside cold-chain packing. The certificate gives a retest date, and that date is a calendar prompt for the holder to re-examine the lot, not a point at which the material changes. Log it on receipt alongside the lot number and the date the parcel arrived.

Between receipt and the retest date the rules are the same as for any lyophilized peptide held as reference material: closed container, cold, dark, opened only when needed and never left to warm and cool repeatedly. A cake that has been warmed, opened and chilled again several times will eventually show it on a chromatogram, and by then the supplier is a long way from the cause. None of this is guidance on use. The storage and retest guide covers the reasoning and what to do when a held lot reaches its retest date.

Who this page is for

The three buyers this DSIP page answers

  • 01

A laboratory replacing an existing DSIP lot

You want a second source whose certificate you can read before paying. Order a kit in the fill you already stock, set the two certificates side by side, and move to powder if the identity and purity results fall where you expect.

  • 02

    A distributor building a short-peptide range

DSIP sits alongside Semax, Selank and the other sequences on the compound index. One manufacturer for the range means matching certificates and consistent lot numbering; quote the lines together and the longest window sets dispatch.

  • 03

A brand owner planning labelled DSIP vials

Own-label vials start at 50 kits (500 vials), are planned as a production batch and are reordered on the OEM repeat window of typically 14–18 days. Label and carton details follow the quotation. See the order photos for what a finished kit looks like.

What this page does not claim

Pepti does not present itself as a cGMP drug-substance (API) manufacturer or CDMO and does not publish a GMP certificate or DMF.

DSIP is supplied for research use only and not for human or veterinary use. Nothing on this page describes an effect, a protocol or a use; a buyer who needs that information is on the wrong site.

DSIP supply questions

Which identifiers belong on a DSIP purchase order?

CAS 62568-57-4 and the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. The abbreviation DSIP is acceptable as a trade name on a second line. PubChem CID 68816 lists the formula C35H48N10O15 and a molecular weight of 848.8 g/mol, which is the figure the certificate result is read against.

Why do both public DSIP records show the same purity figure?

Because two separate lots happened to report the same HPLC result, 99.8%. The library lists one 2 mg lot and one 5 mg lot and each was tested on its own. The coincidence says nothing about the next lot; the record for the lot you are quoted is the only figure that applies to your material.

What are the smallest DSIP quantities available?

5 g of raw powder quoted per gram and shipped cold-chain, or 1 kit (10 vials) in the 2 mg or 5 mg fill. Each carries a lot number and a certificate. Private-label OEM vials begin at 50 kits (500 vials), since they are produced as a batch rather than taken from stock.

Can I have the DSIP certificate before I pay?

Yes. If the stock is allocated, the quotation names the lot and its record is already in the batch table on this page. If the lot is still in production, the certificate is issued on the same template when testing is complete and is sent with the order papers; ask for it before paying if that is your rule.
