Identity

Ipamorelin: five residues, three of them unusual

Ipamorelin is a short synthetic peptide of five residues with an amide at the C-terminus: Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. It is registered under CAS 170851-70-4, listed on PubChem as CID 9831659, and has the formula C38H49N9O5 and a molecular weight of 711.9 g/mol. The development code NNC 26-0161 appears in older literature and in some catalogues as an alternative name for the same structure.

Three of the five residues are not standard amino acids. Aib is 2-aminoisobutyric acid, which has no chiral centre. D-2-Nal is D-2-naphthylalanine and D-Phe is D-phenylalanine, both the mirror-image form of the usual residue. That matters for procurement in a specific way: a mass spectrometer reports mass, and the D- and L-forms of a residue have the same mass. A molecular-weight result of about 711.9 g/mol therefore confirms the composition and the amide, but it cannot by itself distinguish the correct stereochemistry from a wrongly configured isomer. The CAS number fixes the stereochemistry; the certificate confirms the mass. Buyers whose work depends on the configuration confirm it with their own method on receipt.

The C-terminal amide also matters. The corresponding free acid would be a different compound with a different mass, and it would not match the formula on this page. The public batch records for Ipamorelin report molecular-weight results consistent with the amide. What follows on this page is about naming, batch documentation, the choice between powder and vials, handling and how a quotation is built. It is not about what Ipamorelin does, and no page on this site discusses that.

Documentation

How an Ipamorelin lot is written up

An Ipamorelin lot is released with a certificate of analysis issued against its lot number. The certificate records the HPLC purity of the main peak, the mass spectrometry result for molecular weight, the manufacturing date, the test date and the retest date. Three lots are public in the Pepti library, filled at 2 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg, and their purity results lie between 98.76% and 99.12%. The 2 mg and 5 mg lots both report 98.76%; the 10 mg lot reports 99.12%. Each number is a measurement on one lot, and the number on the certificate for the lot you receive is the only one that applies to your material.

Take the two figures as two separate checks. The molecular-weight result near 711.9 g/mol, read with the CAS number, establishes that the peak has the right composition and the C-terminal amide. The purity result states how much of the chromatogram is that peak. Neither figure covers stereochemistry, counter-ion, water content, fill mass per vial, residual solvents, endotoxin or sterility, and the public record does not claim any of them. Those are results a buyer obtains from an outside laboratory where they are needed, filed against the same lot number so they can be traced back to the parcel.

The record is readable before payment. For allocated stock the quotation names the lot and its entry is in the batch table on this page. A lot that has been made but not yet listed is documented on the same template and its certificate accompanies the order. The guide on matching a COA to the batch you receive explains how to line the two up.

Ordering

Ordering Ipamorelin: the sequence of exchanges

Each exchange leaves a written record that names the lot.

  1. Specify the format, the fill and the amount

Ipamorelin raw powder is quoted per gram from 5 g and shipped cold-chain. Vials are quoted per kit of ten in the 2 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg fill. One sample kit is 1 kit (10 vials); a private-label OEM run is from 50 kits (500 vials). Powder and a kit from the same enquiry are quoted together.

  2. Name the destination and what paperwork you want

The destination country sets the route and the cold-chain packing. Say whether the batch record is required before payment, whether the retest date should be stated on the quotation, and whether your quality system needs the certificate in a given layout.

Whether Ipamorelin can be imported into your country is a question for you and your customs adviser. The quotation describes the goods and the documents only.

  3. Read the quotation and the public record side by side

The quotation gives CAS 170851-70-4, the format, the quantity, the lead-time window and, for allocated stock, the lot number. Open the public record for that lot and compare the purity and the molecular-weight result with your expectation before confirming.

  4. Confirm and allow the typical window

A sample kit typically ships 3–7 days after specification and payment are confirmed. A production batch typically requires 10–14 days and an OEM repeat batch typically 14–18 days. None of these is a fixed commitment; the quotation states which applies.

  5. Check the parcel against the certificate

Compare the lot number on each vial label or on the powder container with the certificate, weigh what your balance can resolve, and send a portion for your own analysis if your procedure requires it. Report any mismatch with the lot number and photographs; it is resolved against the record.

Ipamorelin as powder or as vials

Both formats come off the same production and carry the same kind of certificate. The decision is about who does the weighing and how the units are tracked.

Two formats for Ipamorelin

  • Raw powder

    Ipamorelin as raw material

From 5 g per order, quoted per gram, dispatched cold-chain. The batch COA confirmed for the lot states HPLC purity and MS identity. Choose this when your own fill-and-finish or analytical work needs bulk material.

  • Lyophilized vials

    Ipamorelin in finished vials

Fills of 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg per vial, ten vials per kit. A sample order is 1 kit (10 vials); private-label OEM starts at 50 kits (500 vials). Choose this when you need a finished, sealed unit per sample rather than weighed powder.

Handling

Holding Ipamorelin to its retest date

Ipamorelin is dispatched as a dry solid, as weighed powder in a sealed container with cold-chain packing or as a lyophilized cake in a stoppered, crimped vial. The retest date on the certificate is the date by which stock still on hand should be re-examined; it is not an expiry and it does not alter the identity of the material. Enter the lot number, the receipt date and the retest date into your inventory record when the parcel is opened so that the retest is planned.

Store the container closed, cold and in the dark, and open it only when the material is needed. Repeated warming and chilling of an opened container lets moisture in, and that is the handling pattern most often behind a changed chromatogram later on. None of this is direction on use; it is the care any lyophilized reference material gets. The storage and retest guide sets it out in more detail.

Who this page is for

Three Ipamorelin buyers

  • 01

A laboratory wanting a second documented source

You keep Ipamorelin from another supplier and want an alternative whose record you can read first. Order one kit, compare its certificate with the one you hold, and move to powder or a larger order if the results are in the range you expect.

  • 02

A distributor pairing Ipamorelin with CJC-1295

Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 are often listed next to each other. Sourcing both from one manufacturer gives you certificates in one layout and one lot-numbering scheme; put both lines on one enquiry and the longer window governs dispatch.

  • 03

A brand owner planning a labelled run

You want Ipamorelin vials under your own label. Planned from 50 kits (500 vials), the run is documented lot by lot and reorders take the OEM repeat-batch window. Artwork and carton details are agreed after the quotation.

What this page does not claim

Pepti does not present itself as a cGMP drug-substance (API) manufacturer or CDMO and does not publish a GMP certificate or DMF.

Ipamorelin is supplied for research use only and not for human or veterinary use. Nothing on this page describes an effect, a protocol or a use; a buyer who needs that information is on the wrong site.

Ipamorelin supply questions

Does the certificate confirm the D-configuration of the Ipamorelin residues?

No. The molecular-weight result confirms the mass and so the composition and the amide, but D- and L-residues have the same mass, so a mass spectrum does not distinguish them. The CAS number fixes the stereochemistry on paper; a buyer whose work depends on it confirms it with an appropriate method on receipt.

What do the public Ipamorelin records show?

Three lots at 2 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg with purity results of 98.76%, 98.76% and 99.12%, each with a molecular-weight result and test and retest dates. They are listed in the batch table on this page. For an allocated order the quotation names the lot so the record can be read before payment.

Is Ipamorelin available as raw powder?

Yes. Raw powder is quoted per gram from 5 g, dispatched cold-chain and documented with the same type of lot certificate as the vials. Buyers who fill their own containers usually take powder; buyers who distribute sealed units take vials.

What are the smallest order and the typical lead times for Ipamorelin?

The smallest is 1 kit (10 vials) in a single fill, or 5 g of raw powder. Sample kits typically dispatch in 3–7 days from specification and payment confirmation; production batches typically take 10–14 days; OEM repeat batches typically take 14–18 days.
