Research peptide raw material
KPV Raw Material Supplier
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val. It is supplied as cold-chain raw powder from 5 g or as lyophilized vials in 5 mg and 10 mg fills, ten vials to a kit. Two public batch records are listed for it in the Pepti COA library, each carrying an HPLC purity result, a molecular-weight result and a retest date, so the lot behind a quotation can be read before payment.
Also known as Lys-Pro-Val, α-MSH (11–13). Supplied by Bulk Peptide Works, manufactured by Pepti, Guangzhou.
Identity
What KPV is on paper
KPV is a three-residue peptide, lysine, proline and valine in that order, written Lys-Pro-Val in three-letter code or K-P-V in one-letter code, which is where the trade name comes from. The registry number is CAS 67727-97-3, the PubChem entry is CID 125672, the formula is C16H30N4O4 and the molecular weight is 342.4 g/mol. The same three residues form the carboxyl-terminal end of α-MSH, so some suppliers list the material as α-MSH (11–13); that label states where the residues sit within the parent sequence and nothing more. A purchase order should carry the CAS number first and the sequence second, because a three-letter name is easy to type and just as easy to mistype.
A tripeptide is small enough that the main identity question is not which peptide you have but whether you have the whole of it. The look-alike substances are the two dipeptides, Lys-Pro and Pro-Val, and the free amino acids, all of which would appear at lower mass on a mass-spectrometry readout. The molecular-weight result on a KPV certificate is therefore read for one thing: a mass consistent with 342.4 g/mol and not with a shorter fragment. The CAS number fixes the sequence. It does not fix the counter-ion, so if the quotation is for a salt form the weighed mass includes the counter-ion as well as the peptide, and the quotation should say which form is being weighed.
This page describes KPV as an item on a quotation: how it is named, how a lot is documented, which of the two formats suits a given buyer, how it travels and how it is stored on arrival. It does not say what KPV does or what it is studied for, because neither belongs on a supplier page. KPV from Pepti is research-use raw material and nothing else.

Batch record
Reading a KPV certificate of analysis
Each KPV lot is released against its own certificate of analysis. The certificate names the lot, gives the chromatographic purity by HPLC, gives a molecular-weight result from mass spectrometry and dates the manufacture, the test and the retest. Two KPV lots are public in the Pepti library at the moment, one filled at 5 mg and one at 10 mg, with purity results of 99.35% and 99.23% respectively. Those two figures describe two specific lots. They are not a specification, and a third lot will carry its own result, which may sit inside or outside that narrow spread.
What the public summary leaves out matters as much as what it shows. It does not state the fill mass per vial as a measured value, it does not state water content, residual solvent, counter-ion content, endotoxin or bioburden, and it does not state net peptide content. A buyer whose process depends on any of those arranges the test on their own account, and the lot number on the certificate is the handle that ties an outside result back to the material in hand. The guide on matching a certificate to the batch you receive walks through that comparison line by line.
The certificate can be requested before any money changes hands. Where stock is already allocated, the quotation names the lot, and the public record for it is in the batch table on this page. A lot that is still in production is documented on the same template once it is tested, and document availability is confirmed per lot on the quotation. The quality page describes the template and the two tests it reports.
Ordering
Placing a KPV order, step by step
Each step produces a document; keep them together under the lot number.
-
Choose powder or vials, and how much
Raw powder is quoted per gram and starts at 5 g, dispatched cold-chain. Vials are quoted per kit of ten in the two fills that exist for KPV, 5 mg and 10 mg. The smallest vial order is 1 kit (10 vials); a private-label OEM run is planned from 50 kits (500 vials). An enquiry that asks for both, say 5 g of powder and a sample kit of the 10 mg fill, is answered on one quotation.
-
Give the destination and the paperwork you need
The country of delivery sets the carrier, the customs documents and the cold-chain packing. State whether you want the certificate before payment, whether your quality file needs a particular report layout, and whether the standard retest date is enough for your inventory cycle.
Whether your jurisdiction admits the goods is for you to establish. The quotation describes what is shipped and which documents accompany it; it does not give import advice.
-
Read the quotation against the public record
The quotation identifies KPV by CAS 67727-97-3 and states the format, the quantity, the typical lead-time window and, for allocated stock, the lot reference. Open that lot in the library and check that the purity result, the molecular-weight result and the fill match what you were offered before you confirm.
-
Confirm and allow the typical window
A sample kit typically ships in 3–7 days once the specification is agreed and payment is confirmed. A production batch typically needs 10–14 days and an OEM repeat batch typically 14–18 days. The window on your quotation is the one that applies; none of the three is a fixed promise.
-
Reconcile the parcel with the certificate
Match the lot number on the vial label or the powder container to the certificate, count the vials, weigh the powder container if you can, and photograph the labels before the goods enter your store. Any discrepancy is raised against the lot number with the photographs attached, which is what lets it be resolved from records rather than recollection.
Powder or vials: the KPV decision
Same production, same certificate template, different unit of supply. The question is whether you want to do the weighing yourself.
| If you | Order | Because |
|---|---|---|
| Run your own fill line or develop an analytical method | Raw powder from 5 g | One lot of powder covers many of your own units, and you choose the diluent, the fill and the container |
| Supply sealed units to several sites | Vials, 5 mg or 10 mg, in kits of ten | Every vial carries the lot and a stated fill, so per-unit custody is simple to log |
| Are qualifying Pepti as a second source | 1 kit (10 vials) of one fill | The smallest order that still carries a lot number and a public record to compare against your existing certificate |
| Want KPV under your own label | Vials from 50 kits (500 vials) | A private-label run is planned as a production batch and carries the OEM lead-time window on repeats |
If you have not decided, ask for powder and vials on the same enquiry; the two quotations come back side by side.
Two formats for KPV
-
Raw powder
KPV as raw material
From 5 g per order, quoted per gram, dispatched cold-chain. The batch COA confirmed for the lot states HPLC purity and MS identity. Choose this when your own fill-and-finish or analytical work needs bulk material.
-
Lyophilized vials
KPV in finished vials
Fills of 5 mg, 10 mg per vial, ten vials per kit. A sample order is 1 kit (10 vials); private-label OEM starts at 50 kits (500 vials). Choose this when you need a finished, sealed unit per sample rather than weighed powder.
Public lot records for KPV
2 public lot records for KPV, with chromatographic purity results from 99.23–99.35%. Each row is one lot at one fill: the lot number, the fill, the HPLC purity result, the mass-spectrometry molecular-weight result and the test date.
| Lot | Fill | HPLC purity | MS molecular weight | Tested |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PEP260713-KP5 | 5 mg | 99.35% | 343.15 Da | 2026-07-18 |
| PEP260702-KP10 | 10 mg | 99.23% | 343.15 Da | 2026-07-10 |

Lead times
Three stages, each quoted as a typical window after specification and payment confirmation; not a fixed commitment. The quotation states the window that applies to your order.
- 01Sample kittypically 3–7 days
- 02Production batchtypically 10–14 days
- 03OEM repeat batchtypically 14–18 days
Handling
KPV in transit and on the shelf
KPV leaves Guangzhou as a dry solid. Powder orders go out in a sealed container inside cold-chain packing; vial orders go out as freeze-dried cakes in stoppered, capped glass vials, ten to a kit. On arrival the lot number, the receipt date and the retest date from the certificate are the three entries that belong in your inventory log, because they are the three things anyone will ask for later.
The retest date is the point at which held material should be re-examined, not the point at which it ceases to be KPV. Between receipt and that date the container stays sealed, cold and out of light, and is opened as few times as possible. Temperature cycling of an opened container is what turns a clean chromatogram into a noisy one. A lot held past its retest date is re-tested or retired by the holder; the certificate does not extend itself. Nothing here is a direction for use; it is the handling that any lyophilized reference material gets, and the storage and retest guide sets it out in more detail.
Who this page is for
Three reasons a buyer lands on this KPV page
-
01
A laboratory that needs a second-sourced tripeptide
You hold KPV from another supplier and want a lot with a public certificate to compare against it. A sample kit in the fill you already use is the smallest comparison that still carries a lot number; powder follows if the two certificates line up.
-
02
A distributor adding short peptides to a longer list
KPV is one of several short sequences on the compound index that buyers order together with BPC-157 and TB-500 so that one manufacturer, one certificate template and one lot-numbering scheme cover the whole range. Put all the lines on one enquiry and the longest lead time sets the dispatch.
-
03
A brand owner who wants labelled KPV vials
Private-label vials are planned from 50 kits (500 vials) as a production batch, documented lot by lot, and reordered on the OEM repeat-batch window of typically 14–18 days. Artwork and carton specifications are settled after the quotation, not before.
What this page does not claim
Pepti does not present itself as a cGMP drug-substance (API) manufacturer or CDMO and does not publish a GMP certificate or DMF.
KPV is supplied for research use only and not for human or veterinary use. Nothing on this page describes an effect, a protocol or a use; a buyer who needs that information is on the wrong site.
KPV supply questions
Is KPV the same as α-MSH (11–13)?
Yes, the two names describe the same tripeptide, Lys-Pro-Val. The α-MSH (11–13) label states where the three residues sit in the parent sequence; the CAS number, 67727-97-3, is what the certificate and the purchase order should carry, and the PubChem record for CID 125672 confirms the formula and the 342.4 g/mol molecular weight.
How many public KPV batch records are there?
Two at present, one at 5 mg and one at 10 mg, both in the batch table on this page with the purity result, the molecular-weight result and the test date. The purity results on those records are 99.35% and 99.23%; the record for the lot you are quoted is the one that applies to you.
What is the minimum KPV quantity you quote?
5 g of raw powder, quoted per gram and sent cold-chain, or 1 kit (10 vials) in either the 5 mg or the 10 mg fill. Both minimums carry a lot number and a certificate. Private-label OEM vials start at 50 kits (500 vials) because they are produced as a batch rather than drawn from stock.
Can the KPV certificate tell me the net peptide content?
No. The public summary reports HPLC purity and a molecular-weight result. Net peptide content, water content and counter-ion content are separate tests that are not on the summary; if your work needs them, say so on the enquiry so that the quotation states which figure the weighed mass refers to, and arrange your own test against the lot number.
Quote KPV raw material or vials
Tell us the format (raw powder from 5 g, or vials and which fill), the quantity, the destination country and whether you need the batch COA before payment. Replies come with the applicable lot record.
